Slow drains or clogged drains are such a pain in the neck for every individual. You can’t bathe properly, brush properly or wash properly if the drain is slow. So before the situation worsens, licensed plumbers Toronto has come up with some DIY hacks to fix the slow drain on your own without spending dollars on plumbers.

1.      Use a coat hanger: A hooked coat hanger is the best tool that can be used to clean the drain if you feel like the clog is near the end. The best part is coat hanger is easily available at any time of the day and can be used as and when required. All you have to do is bend one end into the shape of hook and insert it in the drain and find the clog to fix it.

2.      Plunge the drain: All you need is a little push, someone said. Similar is in the case of the plunge. Use a plunger and try to fix the drain.

3.      Dissolve the clog: If can’t fix it, then dissolve it. Use baking soda and some vinegar and the clog will dissolve as a result of the chemical reaction. To make sure it happens, pour some boiled water after 15 minutes and it’s done.

DIY Plumbing Tips

Leakage in taps, clogging of drains and many more plumbing problems are a part and parcel of our daily routine. An individual residing in a city like Toronto can’t afford to call a plumber daily and pay him to fix a small leakage. As it is said, sometimes you are on your own.

To make your plumbing experience a little easy and less clumsy, Toronto Plumbing Group has come up with some DIY plumbing tips which you can use while you and your bathroom are on your own.

  • Insulation of Pipe: Sometimes pipes get jiggled up while pulling out the sink sprayer. If this happens, chances are that the hose is catching on the shutoff valves and this whole thing need to be smoothen up. Instead of calling a plumber and spending dollars on his service, just foam the pipe insulation and shut off handles. Tape it if it won’t stay proper.
  • Shop Vaccum: Clogging of toilet or drain is a normal thing. What is not normal is when the clogging doesn’t open with the help of a plunger. That means some hard object is in the way and use of a plunger only pushes it deeper. To solve this, use a shop vaccum to get the object out.
  • Using Magnet: Sometimes there is leakage in the pipe and you don’t know. It’s better to locate where the leaking pipe is rather than waking up in the middle of the night experience a pipe burst. Use a magnet to locate the pipe if it’s trouble for you to find it.
And if something goes wrong, Toronto Plumbing Group has licensed plumbers working all over in Toronto and Mississauga to help you if anything goes wrong. We have plumbers available in case of emergency which work at extremely affordable prices.
